Corsham Neighbourhood Policing Team have been gifted a pedal assisted electric bike by Corsham Town Council in an attempt to keep the town safe.
The e-bike was funded solely by the Town Council following a request by PC Adam Neish.
PC Neish previously set up a similar scheme in Swindon which proved successful and wanted to adopt a similar approach in Corsham.
He said: “We are extremely grateful to the Town Council for this very welcome addition to our neighbourhood policing team.
“The bike enables us to reach areas where a car wouldn’t be able to, and provides more visibility for the community, not to mention the environmental benefits.
“Corsham is a very safe place to live and we are committed to ensuring it remains this way.”
Chair of Corsham Town Council, Cllr Helen Belcher OBE, said: “We have a very positive relationship with Corsham Neighbourhood Policing Team and felt that an e-bike would make their job even more effective, especially in the outlying parts of the parish.
“We look forward to hearing about the difference the e-bike makes in and around Corsham.”
