Corsham Town Council is encouraging people to find out about becoming a Town Councillor, with all 20 seats up for re-election on 1 May 2025. Two drop-in sessions for potential candidates are being held at the Town Hall, in Corsham’s High Street.
The first, from 6-7pm on Monday 10 March, will be immediately followed by that month’s Full Council meeting, enabling potential candidates to observe the Council’s work in practice.
The other session, from 10am-12pm, on Wednesday 12 March, will allow potential candidates the opportunity to come along to meet Councillors and members of staff to ask questions about the Town Council’s work.
Both sessions will offer an opportunity to explain what the Town Council does as well as the process and timeline for standing for election.
Being a Town Councillor is an enjoyable way of contributing to your community and helping to make it a better place to live, work and visit. If you are over 18 and a UK, Commonwealth or European Union citizen, read the detailed eligibility criteria to find out if you qualify to stand. You can also talk to David Martin, the Town Council’s Chief Executive, about the sessions and standing in the election. Call 01249 702130 or email dmartin@corsham.gov.uk.
